How to Make Your Own Atkins Daily Diet Plan
In making your own daily diet plan for your Atkins diet, there is one huge factor that you have to consider. At what stage of the Atkins diet are you in right now? In the interest f this article, let us say that you are currently in the induction phase, the phase that will require you to intake only as little as 20 grams of carbs in a day.
To start with your Atkins daily diet plan, you should have a list of food items that are acceptable on this plan. Here are some basic food items that you can include in your Atkins daily diet plan.
Protein food items
Almost all protein food items are acceptable to add in your Atkins diet like ham, eggs, fish, seafood, chicken and beef. However tofu has a gram of carbohydrate in it for every 10 grams of protein. This is the reason why the Atkins diet is the diet of choice for meat lovers and vegetarians tend to have a harder time keeping this diet in place.
Vegetables
- This will be your main source of carbohydrates but make sure to stick to veggies that have low carbs in them, like green leafy vegetables. Lettuce, cucumber, celery, broccoli, cauliflower and radishes are good examples of vegetables with low carbs so you may use them in your meal planning.
Cheeses
- Gouda, mozzarella, blue cheese – these are all good for this diet. You can have around 3 to 4 ounces of cheese a day on the induction stage.
Drinks
- If you love soda and could not live without it, then make sure it is sugar free. However, juices have to be avoided as they contain sugar.
